sabrina rosa: HANDS OF THE FUTURE

SABRINA ROSA (sometimes Sabrina D. Marques) works in visual arts, researching and teaching. Born in Paris, she grew up in Portugal near the woods, where she learned to appreciate Nature and the manual labor. As forms of expression, she uses video, film, photography, text, textile and drawing. She has a degree in Sciences of Communication and, as a Phd candidate, she researches Photography and Memory in the Cluster of Photography and Cinema, History of Art (FCSH-UNL). Co-founder of the GERMINAL PLATFORM, dedicated to eco-art and experimental cinema.

SYNOPSIS: Maybe it’s a science. Maybe it’s a fantasy. Chiromancy or Palmistry is the art of reading the past, present or future in someone’s handlines. Each hand is a landscape of intersections, dots, bumps, curves, ramifications and textures. Each hand is like a screen yet to be filled by a movie.
